Howard Kroplick

Howard obtained a bachelor of engineering degree from Stony Brook University and a MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. After 9 years in product management at Pfizer Inc., Howard founded and was the CEO/President of The Impact Group, which became one of the leading medical communication companies in its field. In 2008, Howard sold the company and became Chairman Emeritus. He and his wife Roz have been residents of East Hills for 37 years, raising two beautiful daughters Deborah and Dana.

Howard continues to pursue his passion for Long Island history and vintage automobile racing. From 2012 to 2019, he was the town historian for the Town of North Hempstead, a member of the town’s Historic Landmark Preservation Commission. In 2016 was awarded the Edmund J. Winslow Local Government Historian Award for Excellence by the Association of Public Historian of New York State. The award is given to one New York historian each year. Since September 2018, he has been president of the Board of Trustees for the Roslyn Landmark Society, and president of the Long Island Motor Parkway Preservation Society. Howard has lectured extensively on the history of Long Island and authored two books; Vanderbilt Cup Races of Long Island, and The Long Island Motor Parkway, co-authored with Al Velocci. All proceeds from his presentations and book sales are donated to charitable organizations. Howard has also created and developed his website VanderbiltCupRaces.com, which provides comprehensive information on the history of Long Island auto racing and current automotive events. In April 2013, the website was selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences as one of the five best in the world for “Car Sites & Car Culture” and nominated for a “Webby”.
