This building was originally the Benjamin Hicks Lumber Office and in 1911 became the Conklin, Tubby & Conklin Lumber Office.

The building is sheathed in board and batten with gable end facing Old Northern Boulevard. Although some changes were made in the 1800s, the building retains much of it character.

In 1961, architect Edward L. Weeks remodeled the building, preserving the roof and the "Dutch" attic windows, whose roofs descend from the ridge. He added a lunette window at the gable apex and replaced the original shop windows with bay windows at either side of the front entrance door.

The building became the offices of the Junior League of the North Shore.
