This building served as the parsonage for the Wesley Methodist Church for Hempstead Harbor, which was located to the left of this building. The parsonage was built in 1843 by Thomas Wood.
With a growth in population, the Methodist Church moved to Warner Avenue in Roslyn Heights and was dedicated on October 28, 1923. The church is now the Roslyn Korean Methodist Church of New York.
An early 1900s fire destroyed the Main Street building and damaged the parsonage, resulting in its current flat roof.
